50th Anniversary Planning Update?>
The 50th Anniversary celebration will begin on July 4 and continue for a full year. Details about the July 4 worship event, which will begin our celebratory year, will be in next month’s newsletter. In the meantime, a committee has been formed for overall planning; it consists of Flo Lindstrom, David Osborne, Nancy Martin, Connie Wolter, and Jeanie McBee. In addition to this group, there will be many opportunities for others to give input and to serve on various sub-committees, e.g., History, Parade, the actual Birthday Celebration on December 12 (Entertainment, Dinner, Program, Set-Up, Clean-Up, etc.). Other sub-committees may be needed, as well. Watch for monthly updates, and share any ideas you have that will make this a banner year at Northlake - ideas that will recognize the past accomplishments at Northlake while at the same time, making plans for the future ministry of Northlake Lutheran Church. September 19 - Rally Day: A special Rally Sunday is planned this year, one that will increase Northlake’s visibility in the community while at the same time, give the invitation for others to join us. Sunday worship will be held at Rhododendron Park, followed by a meal and many activities for all. Publicity ahead of time will invite community members to join us, large signs will tell park users who we are, and the friendly activities will give another opportunity for park users to join in. December 12—The Main Event: Dinner and Program Other events will be added in the weeks ahead.
