Parish Life Notes ....

November 2005 

We have four dinners remaining through the end of the year — one more Fellowship Dinner on November 9 and three Advent Celebration Dinners on November 30,   December 7 and December 14.

In order to hold these Advent gatherings, we need to have two folks signed up to cook and two people to clean up.  I will plan the meal and do the shopping, but we need to have those other key spots filled in order to hold the dinners.  If no one is signed up, there will be no dinners.    Of course that’s not the option we all want!!

If you can do these tasks, please let me know by phone or email (listed below), or call the church office (425-486-6977). 

Clipboards will be circulated to get sign-ups for the dinners and to give opportunity for helpers to sign up, also.

 Confirmation Dinner Review

 THANK YOU!  Thank you for cooking, cleaning, talking, and showing up!  May 1st we confirmation families got together for a dinner hosted by the church.  

In all the times I have put together an event at Northlake,  I’ve never had such a positive   response for the call to help.  I would list your names but know I would forget someone and would feel terrible.  From Lorna, Rose and Nancy baking the BEST desserts, to Kay Shea who, in a last minute effort to get all the chicken cooked, high-tailed the last round to her house and finished the job.  Then we had people assisting with greeting, decorating the hall (it looked beautiful Marge), and other cooking.

Most of all, I want to let you know it was a wonderful time for all of us parents, especially, to be able to meet together in a social setting.

NEXT YEAR!   We would like to do the same type of dinner on a Sunday afternoon in October for all new and returning families, and then in May, do a Potluck Dinner.

Fellowship Dinners

The last dinner for this school year was held in May.  The dinners will return next fall.

I would like to invite someone to take on managing this project for the next year. I will still be there and will continue to assist, but being the one who manages this keeps me from doing more events that would bring us together in fellowship.  IF you are interested, please email or call me.
