Pioneer Clubs is $30/child, $40/family for uniform, books, badges. Scholarships available.

Adults and kids having fun together and learning about God…Come join us!

When I was a child, Pioneer Clubs helped me learn that being a Christian is not just Sunday morning and Bible stories but life, everyday.  As an adult I am awed by the opportunity to share that with children.  I am also awed by the responsibility we have to care for our children together.  If you want the opportunity to love children, we have lots of kids that just need a few more adults who care in their lives.  My children sure have been blessed by Pioneer Clubs.

Sharing Jesus’ love in word and deed, that’s what Pioneer Clubs is all about.

Please consider participating as a family or as an adult volunteer.  It is a life-changing way to spend Wednesday night.

Pioneer Clubs begins again on Wednesday, September 17 at 6:30 pm.

Confirmation

Confirmation, or more appropriately stated, "Affirmation of Baptism" at Northlake is a three year program designed to help young people--generally grades 7-9--to more fully embrace the gift of faith that Jesus brings to our lives, and the power of God's Love to not only change our lives, but to also change our world.  This is accomplished through a variety of activities, including classroom study/discussions using the Bible, the Small Catechism and various other resources.  In addition, Confirmation also seeks to involve the young people in the work of the Church; both in worship and the life of the Church, as well as in the work of God's people as it takes place in the world.   Finally, Confirmation third year participants are asked to write a statement of faith--in their own words--which reflects their Christian beliefs and how those beliefs can, and do, become a significant source of strength and hope in life.

First/Second Year

Confirmation Classes are held Thursday Evenings (5:00 - 6:00 pm) from  September through April.

Third Year

The third year class meets on the last Wednesday of each month from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Lutherwood Ambassadors

A new program has been instituted at Lutherwood Camp and Retreat Center to improve communication and foster a broader base of stewardship among the Lutheran population of western Washington. This new program is called Lutherwood Ambassadors. We hope to recruit one or two from each Lutheran congregation. Lutherwood is underused by most congregations. In fact, some don't even know of Lutherwood's existence. We want to change that, and hope that the ambassador program can help. For your review:

Lutherwood is a year 'round camp and retreat center. Situated on 100+ acres on Lake Samish in southern Whatcom County, it boasts lakefront, tall conifers, large grassy areas, and steep hills. Facilities include chapels, lodges, cabins, RV sites, and more. Programs are varied, appealing to adults as well as children. Programs can be designed to a group's specific focus, keeping in mind that this is a Christian-based environment. Varied activities include Challenge Courses of low and high elements, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, beach volleyball, field games, campfire, swimming, blobbing, and much more.

Being an ambassador can qualify that person's children or grandchildren for 50 percent discount at Camp Lutherwood. The job description of Lutherwood Ambassador is printed below.
