Discover the hidden history beneath our feet. Join us for an engaging lunch and learn presentation sponsored by the Social Justice Committee. A light lunch will be served.
We are all fascinated with archaeology, particularly the kinds of monumental archaeological features like the Egyptian pyramids, Greek and Roman ruins, and the cliff dwellings in the American Southwest. But archaeological artifacts, features, and other evidence is all around us. This presentation will demonstrate the depth of human use of our Pacific NW environs, both its persistence through time and through environmental changes. There will be lots of pictures and opportunities to ask questions.
Brent Hicks is retired from the practice of Archaeology having worked for over 35 years in U.S. agency and Native American tribal programs and in the private sector. He led archaeological field projects, conducted artifact and other materials research, authored and implemented cultural resources management plans, served as expert witness in legal proceedings, and retired as Vice President of Historical Research Associates, Inc., as the head of the Cultural Resources Management Division.
